Resources to Help You Prepare for Virginia's Insurance Marketplace

Shopping and enrolling for Individual & Family Plans is going to look different for Virginians this year. Virginia's Insurance Marketplace, the new state-based health benefit exchange, is launching during Open Enrollment for the 2024 plan year. This will replace healthcare.gov for Virginia residents.

The State Corporation Commission (SCC) is overseeing the transition to Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace. Review the SCC’s Virginia Health Benefit Exchange (HBE) Agent FAQs to learn about broker trainings, implementation timelines, and technical specifications for the new HBE.

Visit the SCC Exchange Carrier & Assisters page to learn more about how the new HBE will impact brokers.

To sign up for the monthly SCC Agent Town Halls, ask questions, or submit comments, reach out to ExchangeAgents@scc.virginia.gov. The SCC will respond in FAQs during Town Hall meetings, or will reach out to you directly for individual specific questions.

Optima Health will continue to send out new information as it is announced in preparation for Open Enrollment. If you have questions, please contact your Optima Health representative.
